About the Carmel Highlands

A few short miles south of Carmel, along the winding Pacific Coast Highway, are the Carmel Highlands, where a small number of properties stretch along the sea. With easy access to both the natural wonders of Big Sur and the amenities of the Monterey Peninsula, a home in the Carmel Highlands offers the perfect combination of seclusion and convenience.

The area also boasts some of the region’s most stunning homes, adjacent to a small old-style gas station and general store along the highway. Across from the Highlands and stretching along the Pacific Ocean is the Point Lobos State Reserve, called “the greatest meeting of land and water in the world” by landscape artist Francis McComas.
